The ’home grown’ natural core values that Greg started the business with 25 years ago still remain the core values of Montagne Jeunesse today. Passionate about what we do and our brand, the MJ team at the Green Barn pledge the following:

OUR COMMITMENT SINCE 1985

We are committed to using naturally derived ingredients and to stay away from harmful chemicals and additives.

We are absolutely against Animal Testing and only source raw materials that meet our strict 'Non Testing on Animals' policy, working diligently within the BUAV guidelines.

All our products are Vegetarian approved and in many cases suitable for Vegans too.

Everything we do must have minimum impact on the environment – we always try to be as green and eco-friendly as possible!

We strongly believe that all our products should be made with the minimum of processing, using pure and natural ingredients derived from plant and mineral sources. All the natural plant ingredients in our masques are grown using sustainability farming methods – hoorah for sustainability! Heather and Colin our brilliant herbalists who develop our products lead the way in looking for brand new and unusual ingredients.

Our masques are as natural as we can possibly make them. Heather and Colin use a high-tech, whizzy enzyme preservative system which provides microbial stability to the product without the need for any nasty synthetic preservatives. Clear as mud? To put it simply, it’s a totally natural system and Paraben free. Plus for our masques in single use sachets (which is most of them!) they need less preservatives to make them last longer! Even better!

To show our love for our furry friends, we are a founding member of the Coalition for Animal Welfare (CICAW) and all products are BUAV (British Union for the Abolition of Vivisection) and “Choose Cruelty Free” approved. In fact all products are vegetarian approved and some are vegan too.

Our main aim is to become 100% renewable energy self-sufficient.  The Montagne Jeunesse ethos is “Conservation of Energy, Protection of Animals and the Environment”. We’ve even won an environmental award! Our ethos has been recognised with the “Wales Environment Award for companies with less than 50 employees”.

Our masques can be found in 87 countries and we sell ‘über’ amounts a day in the UK alone. To keep our carbon foot print down, we use materials that are stocked by the UK or European distributors who purchase in larger quantities by sea rather than air.

The future of Montagne Jeunesse is all for recycling! Keith our important sales bod is making recycled packaging our number one priority – we’re working on it so watch this space!
